Adding a detached accessory dwelling unit (DADU) into a radically sloping backyard required careful siting and form-making.  The client moved from a much larger home, so spaciousness was created with a soaring ceiling and window wall, and with a private back deck which becomes an outdoor room.  The position of the new structure encourages the creation of a patio or deck nestled between the new structure and the existing house.
